The Pony Draft

Who will be the Pony surprises in this draft

By Keith Jackson

FOXBORO - With all the running backs going early and often in the Pony, it could be the quarterbacks and receivers that are the big surprises in this year's Rolling Rock Pony Draft. If that is so, look for the strong armed QB-Joe Flacco from Delaware to be a big find in the Pony and the fleet receiver Devin Thomas from Michigan State to be the top players from this crop to contribute to their team's fortunes in the fall.

The Stable

Best of the rest that could rise in the BDFL

By Mel Kiper, Jr.

FOXBORO - With only 16 total picks in the Pony, the BDFL can't draft all the rookies in that may contribute to their team's fortunes in the fall. Therefore, other rookies can be selected in August during the BDFL's Miller Genuine Draft. Listed below in no particular order are the other first timers that could have an impact in the BDFL during the 2008 season.

THE BIG STORY

Who will be the stud from the BDFL's 2008 Rolling Rock Pony Draft herd?

FOXBORO – As the Pony matures, the BDFL teams are looking more and more for instant impact players that can help make a difference in the fall like Peterson and Lynch from a year ago. This means a premium has been placed on rushers that dominated this year's Pony selections. Look for instant offense from McFadden, Stewart, Jones, Slaton, Rice, Smith, Forte, Johnson and Mendenhall to be the favorites to help carry the load for their new teams this fall.

The physical Rashard Mendenhall from Illinois went 2nd overall to the Benton Bullets in this year's 2008 Rolling Rock Pony Draft
