Shock & Aw
Mike Williams was electrifying in Week 15 propelling the Sleds to vict’ry over the Armos in the BDCS

The Sleds surge to the semi-finals of the BDCS

DOLOMITE - “Shock & awe” is a military catch phrase technically known as rapid dominance. It is a tactic based on using an overwhelming amount of power with a spectacular display of force to paralyze an enemy on the battlefield and destroy their will to fight. U.S. military forces used the “shock & awe” tactic with devastating success during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 as part of Operation Desert Storm. Conversely, there is a similar “shock & aw” tactic that was used in 2018 during the first round of the BDFL’s Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS). The BDFL's "shock & aw" is more less a football term that mimics the military tactic but can have the same paralyzing effect on its opponents. It happened in Week 15 of the BDFL when the relentless PowerSleds shocked the Armadillos 42-12 and the fledging Blue Deacons aw shucks-ed the Cheetahs 36-19 in an upset for the ages in the first round of the BDCS. In other opening round BDCS battles, the Woo Crew edged out the Legends of Shades Creek 29-28, while the defending champions (Wildcats) rubbed out the Dorians 17-12. All four winners in the BDFL's elite playoff bracket (BDCS) advanced to the semi-finals in Week 16 where they will try to earn their way to Big Daddy Bowl XVII in Week 17. BDFL News

The 2018 Big Mullet Series is playing for something as well

PERDIDO KEY - The Mayors missed the BDCS by one vict'ry. The Bullets missed it by 13 points. The Freebirds missed it through a string of bad luck and the Grenadiers missed it because of poor draft decisions. The rest probably got what they deserved, but not all is lost. On the shores of the Gulf Coast, a season can be salvaged with determination and pride. The winner of the Big Mullet Series will get the first pick in the BDFL's annual Pony Draft in April. So suck it up, tough it out and be the best you can be.
