 Hall of Fame

Alabama's Don Hutson was in the first class to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963

The BDFL Champions Hall of Fame
TITLETOWN - Canton, Ohio and Tuscaloosa, Alabama don't have a whole lot in common as cities, but both love their football and both know what a championship team looks like. Canton was where pro football was born in 1920 and Tuscaloosa is where Southern college football took root back in 1892. The Pro Football Hall of Fame (NOTE: It's not the NFL Hall of Fame) is located in Canton while the BDFL's Hall of Fame lives on "The Cloud" somewhere. The BDFL was founded in 1995 and has been crowning a league champion for 23 years. The Fairfield PowerSleds won the first BDFL title back in 1995 and the Western Hills Wildcats won the last one in 2018. Both teams earned their ticket to the BDFL's Hall of Fame. The BDFL has one shameful "tainted" title from back in 1997 when the Capital City Bullets won it with a losing record, but that will never happen again. Nowadays, the league champion gets to take home the coveted Grand Daddy trophy for a year similar to the NHL's Stanley Cup. There have been 12 different BDFL franchises win the league's championship and a hand-full of those who have never won a title. This group is referred to as the "Null Set Club" and there are four members of this club still milling around the BDFL. To save them the embarrassment of a public listing, the league and these teams all know who they are. Don Hutson to this day is arguably the best receiver to ever play the game and he's the man in the icon of the BDFL's official Hall of Fame trademark.
