RICKA Rule rookie Phillip Lindsay has been a bright spot for the Walking Wounded this season

Pulled from the abyss by their own bootstraps

ORANGE BEACH, AL - Going into the Third Sunday in October, the BDFL’s oldest franchise was a dismal 0-6. This is the Grenades/Grenadiers worse start in 25 years of football. What the Fieldstown Bomb Squad needed was a change of scenery. Some clubs have been known to go to Junction, TX, other teams to Clarksville, TN and other groups to Rockville, MD. Alabama native Jimmy Buffet has always recommended a change in latitude to help with a change in attitude. So the Troop Train decided to head southbound to Lower Alabama this week for their home game, some serious soul searching and to get some needed rest and relaxation. It was just what Dr. Buffet had ordered. He said, “You’d be surprised what a night at the FloraBama can do to clear the mind, sooth the soul and help prepare a big time scheme." After re-grouping in Atmore, the Grenade Brigade circled the tanks in Gulf Shores and prepared for the Dorian invasion on Perdido Beach. By pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps, sticking to their guns and using the weapons they had already assembled, the Green Berets carpet bombed the Altadenians (44-15) before they could even dock their longships on the shore of the Alabama Gulf Coast. It looks like the Grenadiers have now escaped a six-week quagmire that had them bogged down. This big win makes it one in a row over the Dorians, it raises the Grenadiers win-loss record to 1-6 on the season and it restores hope for more sunny days ahead for the Mineral faithful. The 2018 BDFL Supplemental Draft is now underway

TITLETOWN - It's mid-season of the 2018 BDFL regular season and now is the opportunity for all teams to improve one roster spot with the annual Supplemental Draft. The Supp Draft was established years ago to give every BDFL team a chance to get better at the halfway point of the regular season. BDFL titles have been won with help from the Supp Draft. It's a simple formula. When it is your turn, drop one unproductive player and select another undrafted player at the same position that can strengthen your bench and possibly start down the road. 2018 Supp Draft
