Culpepper expected to carry the load in 2004

PELHAM - With four question marks at the RB position, the Blades are counting on Dante Culpepper to be a rushing threat as well as a chunker. The Blades will also rely heavily on proven BDFLers in Hines Ward, Eric Moulds, Martin Gramatica and the Philadelphia defense to help score points while the running game matures. Larry Fitzgerald could be the league's best newcomer. If the Blades can turn two of the four question marks into answers, then the Blades could easily win the new Yellow Hammer Division.

QB Drew Bledsoe could be trade bait

PELHAM - If the Blades young backfield struggles and the Bullets develop a stronger need a QB, look for a deal. The Bullets are deep at RB, but could struggle with Brunell behind center. The Blades have a BDFL starter on the pine with Bledsoe, so if the young legs can't get on the field, look for the Blades to deal Bledsoe to the Bullets for a starting RB.

Blades go with young legs to try and win their  first BDFL title

PELHAM - McGahee, Griffin and Toefield aren't exactly household names in the BDFL, but that could all change if the Blades draft strategy works. In recent years there has been basically two ways to win a BDFL title. One, take some chances in the draft and hope for the best (Mayors 2002) or just be lucky at the draft and good players fall in your lap (Cheetahs 2003). The Blades adhered to the first method. Let's see if it pays off.

The Blades will need steady point production from Willis McGahee and others in their young unproven backfield to win the 2004 BDFL title
