No protest is protest

FAIRFIELD - By not protesting the league and the Commissioner this year, the Sleds have launched their official "no protest is the protest" policy. By not bringing particular attention to any one facet of the BDFL, the Al Davis of the BDFL (Mad Jack Barnes) will try to bring order to an ever changing BDFL. The Sleds have had a history of rebellion since winning their first two BDFL titles in 1995 and 1996.

Maybe the "no protest is the protest" policy is a way to help turn the Sleds back in to the power they once were. Look for the policy to stand this season as the head of the Sleds will focus more of his attention on his own team rather than the league, the Commissioner and their policies.

The story behind the Mean Machine

FAIRFIELD - On a hot August night in 1995 in a dark hot room at 303 Edgewood Blvd. near Green Springs, the BDFL was born. Seven teams gathered together for the first BDFL Draft with another on the line from Media Void. Team names were suggested by the Commish and awaited approval by each teams. The PowerSleds, Condors and Mean Machine were all strongly considered by the Fairfield franchise. The Mean Machine from the Burt Reynolds movie "The Longest Yard" was the early favorite but lost out to the PowerSleds in the end. However, because of this close decision, the Mean Machine has always been referred to and linked to the Fairfield team and the PowerSleds.

PowerSleds took some risks in the draft to return to the glory days

FAIRFIELD - By taking some chances in the 2004 BDFL Genuine Draft, the Sleds took a bold move towards the future of the franchise. Three rookie running backs (Jones, Jones and Jackson) along with untested receivers in Washington and Lloyd highlight the youth movement. Great quarterbacking and solid kicking should keep the Mean Machine running in most races this season. The difference in glory, or the "same ol' same 'ol" will come from the newly hired young guns.

Peyton Manning will be expected to lead the PowerSleds back to their glory days in 2004
