The Underdogs are here! All lower seeds advance with big upset vict'ries in the BDCS
CAPITAL
CITY -
Webster's defines an
underdog as a participant in a
conflict, fight, or game who is not
expected to win. So as quick as the speed of lightning
and as fast as the Shoeshine Boy can duck into a phone booth and
go to the aid of Sweet Polly Purebred, the Big Daddy
Championship Series now belongs
to the lower seeded underdogs (Cheetahs, Bullets, Wooden
Warriors and Grenadiers) after the first round of multiple
upsets in the BDCS. With Riff Raff
(Gamblers), Dr. Simon Bar Sinister (Mayors), Mooch (Sloth
Monsters) and Cad Lackey (Woosiers), out of the running for
the Grand Daddy and headed to the pen, the '09 BDFL title will
go to a 5th or lower seeded team. In the Big Mullet Series (BMS), the
underdogs also faired well as the Bootleggers derailed the PowerSleds,
the Slovaks kicked the Wizards and the Nauts ousted the Wildcats.

The BDCS Final Four will battle in Week 16 for a trip to the 2009 Big Daddy Bowl and a chance to play for the coveted Grand Daddy
