All 16 teams members have been confirmed to be represented at the draft in some form except for the North Canton Bootleggers who are still on the disabled list due to spinal surgery. The Commissioner also confirmed that a golf tournament will be held on Saturday, August 29th in conjunction with the draft. Top players sure to hear their names called early at the draft include Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Owens, DeAngelo Williams, Michael Turner and Fast Willie Parker. As always please be on time, bring drinks for your party and plenty of cash to order pizza and pay your respect to the Mayor.

THE BIG STORY

BDFL names the Gerst Beer All-Big Daddy Pre-Season teams for the 2009 season

NASHVILLE - In the birth place of Gerst Beer "Brewed in Dixie" and now the home of the Gerst Haus classic German restaurant, the BDFL announced the league's annual Gerst Beer All-Big Daddy Pre-Season teams. Highlighting this year's first team is quarterback Drew Brees/NO, last year's BDFL Big Daddy of the Year RB-DeAngelo Williams/CAR and 2009 Shiner Bock Mock predicted #1 draftee RB-Adrian Peterson. Featured on the 2nd team is local Tennessee Titans place kicker Rob Bironas who is a regular at the Gerst Haus located just across the street from the Titans LP Field. With all this publicity surrounding this announcement, look for these players to be amongst the first players drafted on August 29th when the BDFL's Genuine Draft takes place in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Peterson picked as top draftee the league's recent mock draft

SHINER, TX – Here in Lavaca County, life is laid back and the beer is fresh and smooth since Shiner Bock, a dark Slovak style beer that is distributed all over the world, is brewed down here at the Spoetzl Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in Texas. This is why the BDFL experts gather here for the annual sabbatical to drink beer, relax and sift through who they pick will be the top drafts for the upcoming BDFL Genuine Draft in late August. After a good long week in southeast Texas soaking up the rays and downing dark Slovak beer, these experts have come up with the top 32 players for the BDFL draft. For more details and to see the top 32 picks from the BDFL's experts click here.

BDFL's 2009 Gerst Beer All-Big

Daddy Pre-Season Teams

The league's media experts have released their annual Gerst Beer All-Big Daddy Pre-Season teams for the upcoming 2009 BDFL season. It is always interesting to see how the experts fare in predicting future performances. Last year they hit big with Adrian Peterson and Peyton Manning, but missed with the injured Tom Brady and the disappointing Chad Johnson.

2009 schedule features some classics in Week 1

The battle for the Grand Daddy in 2009 will start with a rematch of last year's BDCS semi-finals classic as the 2008 BDFL Champion Benton Bullets will have to ride bare back from Lowndes Co. up to Blount Co. to defend their title against the Hayden Haymakers in an early season Red Neck Division slugfest. Other games highlighting Week 1 include the Grenadiers at the Gamblers in an Home Run Derby Bowl rematch at Hiller Park in Biloxi, the Frank House Memorial Classic as the Sloth Monsters venture to Black Creek to invade the Wooden Warriors. Also on tap in W1 is the Battle of Five Mile Creek as the Dogs tangle with the Slovaks for the bragging rights of Brookside and the Battle of Vestavia when the Wildcats take on the Mayors.
