Carson Palmer and the Magic City Mayors keep beating the Feds and the rap against them this season

THE BIG STORY

The Mayors out run the Feds and shock the PowerSleds to keep pace in the Gray Beard

FAIR PARK - The Magic City Mayors are on the run from the Feds and while on the run, they stopped off 3rd Avenue West long enough to shock the Fairfield PowerSleds 42-21 at the newly constructed Ennis Whatley Stadium on Sunday. From racketeering, to embezzlement, to collusion, to tax evasion, to fraud and loitering charges, nothing is sticking to the Teflon Tax Evaders. According to Mayor Lowry Lankford, all this investigating is just a waste of the taxpayers money and he insists he is innocent of all charges foreign and domestic. Lankford has pontificated on the steps of City Hall numerous times that the money spent on this goose chase could have been better spent on the new John Rogers Dome and to help lure the 2020 Olympics to the Magic City. Lankford referred to the charges as a useless "witch hunt". Until they are convicted, the Mayors will just keep beating the rap.

Big Daddy Championship Series

Who will be #1 and carry home the Grand Daddy trophy that comes with the 2009 BDFL Championship?

If the BDFL season ended after Week 5 here are the teams that would make the Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS). The season is young, but these are the early favorites to qualify for the BDFL's premier post-season playoffs. The pucker factor and how these teams handle the pressure down the stretch will separate those who play for the Grand Daddy trophy and those who will play in the annual second feeder Big Mullet Series (BMS).

The BDFL News

Thigpen for Pennington and Sweed for Nicks

BENTON - The BDFL trade carousel took another turn this week when the Benton Bullets shipped Limas Sweed and Tyler Thigpen up the Alabama River to the Tennessee River on to the Cool Springs Grenadiers for Hakeem Nicks and Tyler Thigpen. The trade was approved by the BDFL's Commissioner Iron Hand and all players will be eligible for their new teams in Week 5. The league will accept trades up to the starter deadline for Week 9 games. All trades must be submitted to Iron Hand, The Commissioner of the BDFL, in an email request for his approval. All trades are non-reversible. All trades are scrutinized by the BDFL's Commissioner to keep the league competitive for all and on the up and up.
