THE BIG STORY

The Brookside Dogs sniff out a yankee hooch haul to derail the 'Leggers big block Dodge

BROOKSIDE - The yankee ridge runners tried to cut in on the West Jefferson County moonshine market with a maiden run from Coalburg to Cardiff on Sunday, but the Brookside Canine Force sniffed out the Northern Carpetbaggers' big block Dodge to keep the "home brew" trade a local enterprise. The Canine Force got a smoke signal tip from the Black Creek Indian Reservation, who are on the normal local Coalburg route, when their weekly "medicine" was late. They knew something was amiss and their local Medicine Man sent out the warning. Seems the Wood Bros. from North Canton were in town for the Talladega 500 and needed a few extra dollar bills after the race to go back to Sammy's. While in town at Sammy's the first time they heard about a "quick run" from a guy only known as "Buck", but the Dogs were ready for the big block Dodge as they heard it cutting out on Cat Mountain.

Jonathan Stewart was the "Big Dog" for the Brookside Dogs as they mauled the North Canton Bootleggers 53-11 in Week 8 BDFL action

The 2009 Steiger Supplemental Draft

All BDFL teams have a chance to upgrade their rosters with the annual Steiger  Supplemental Draft

FOXBORO - The BDFL's 2009 annual Steiger Supplemental Draft will start on Wednesday, November 4th after all Week 8 games have been played. The two round email draft will allow each team to drop two non-productive players and add two more players not currently on any BDFL team roster. The draft order is from last place to first place for both rounds and the draft is designed to help struggling teams close the talent gap for the remaining nine games of the year. There is always a few prized gems to emerge in this mid-season annual draft. Click here for Iron Hand's top 33 prospects, but he encourages you to do your own homework. Below is this year's order for both rounds. The "Snooze You Loose" Rule will apply, if you're not ready to pull the trigger.

The BDFL News

Steiger Beer has been around since 1473

Steiger Beer is the proud sponsor of the BDFL's annual Supplemental Draft. Steiger is the first and oldest brewery and beer brand in Slovakia dating back to 1473. Yes 1473, twenty years before the emergence of America. Steiger means "miners foreman" which characterizes the Slovaks steep mining heritage. Steiger's mascot is a lizard which represents the "lizard legend" for how gold and silver were found in the mountains of Slovakia. Their most popular brand is Steiger Classic, but we'll have to have Mukes test all their brands to come up with the BDFL's official house brand. Visit http://www.steiger.sk/

for more information and check out the two Slovaks on the Forum page. These guys belong in the BDFL as the Banská Štiavnica Salamanders... Yoy, yoy, yoy!
