The Dixie Mafia hits it big with a hitman like beating of the Blitz in the Cast Iron Bowl
DRUID CITY - The Cast Iron Bowl was dreamed up over a few cool ones at the Oak Hill Bar & Grill on the curve in Homewood after a BDFL's Miller Genuine Draft a few years back. The details are still a little fuzzy, but the idea was for the Blitz (UA) and Gamblers (AU) to play their annual grudge match on the same weekend as the legendary Iron Bowl, but in the opposite site of the in-state rivalry, thus the Cast Iron Bowl was born. This was supposed to be a friendly match, however, the Dixie Mafia doesn't do email, they didn't get the memo and therefore ripped the Red Baron a new one at Bryant-Denny. The Bayou La Batre Real Dealers arrived with their shrimp kicking boots and peanut oil to turn the table on the Blitz with a shrimp boil that was heavily battered and deep fried. Next year the game will move to the Plains where the Blitz will try to grill the Gamblers with an old fashioned German sauerkraut kill.

LOUIS - Just as the taste of Falstaff Beer makes your face pucker up
after each taste, the BDFL takes a much closer look at the teams with
the most "pucker" pressure to the least. Who is feeling the most
pressure to get to the seven wins and enough points to become Big Daddy Championship
Series (BDCS) eligible? In 1903, the Lemp Brewing Company registered the
Falstaff trademark and logo. Falstaff Beer was named after the
Shakespearean character of Sir John Falstaff. Sir John represented the
positive social aspects of drinking.

The BDFL's playoff qualifications revisited
FOXBORO - The Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS) is all about rewarding the league's best teams with a chance to advance to the Big Daddy Bowl and play for the league's title. A team must have at least a 7-7 record after Week 14 and win their division to earn a playoff spot. Teams must win their division outright to automatically be assured of a playoff birth. There will be no automatic reward for a team that does not meet these two criteria: 1) At least a 7-7 record and 2) Win their division outright with both points and at least a 7-7 record. If there is no outright clear division champion, the BDFL reserves the right to award a playoff position to another team regardless of their division based on their record and point total. At least seven wins and then most points will determine the other four wildcard playoff spots.
