THE BIG STORY |
The old mighty Mississippi connection pays off as the Gambino hits the jack pot
HAYDEN - The Wagin' Cajuns double downed and rolled the dice at the 2009 BDFL Miller Genuine Draft when they selected the legendary Mississippi-bred quarterback, Brett Favre. Many snickered under their breath when it happened, but when the Gunslingin' Riverboat Gambler threw for two touchdowns on Sunday with one being a breath-taking come from behind dramatic rifle shot on the last play of the game, it was the Gulf Coast Gamblers who had the last laugh by upsetting the BDFL's front-running Smoke Rise Woosiers 33-22 here in Blount County. The Biloxi Elks Lodge and the Dixie Mafia back home were both so moved by the Gamblers big vict'ry and 3-0 start, they staged a golf, softball and beer drinking tournament with a citywide parade to celebrate the Gambino family's return to the Gulf Coast.

Throwback Week will go back to the first AFL
After
three highly successful Throwback Weeks, the BDFL will celebrate the pro
football past with their third annual
Throwback Week in Week 7.
The BDFL will honor
the AFL during their 50th Anniversary year during the 2009 BDFL season.
As the AFL gets set to celebrate their 50th Anniversary this season, the
BDFL thought it was only fitting that the league honor the pioneers of
the first successful AFL which started in 1960. Each BDFL team will
embody an old AFL team with some small AFC exceptions to keep the theme
as pure as possible. Week 7 games will feature classic AFL match-ups
such as the Broncos vs. Texans, Dolphins vs. Chiefs and Bengals vs.
Browns.
