Quarterback Justin Herbert celebrates the Magic City Mayors'
2021 BDFL Championship Title

Magical hex leads
to Big Daddy Bowl win
NEW
ORLEANS - According to Mr. Webster, "hoodoo" is a religion
practiced in remote, dark parts of the Caribbean Islands and in
reclusive, remote areas of the Southeastern United States. It is
characterized by sorcery and spiritual possession. According to the
locals, "voodoo" is somewhat similar, but contains ritual elements of
the Roman Catholic Church mixed with traditional African magical and
religious rites. Combined as the rare "hoodoo voodoo" and used by true
sorcerers and trained magicians, it can overtake a man’s mind and soul
to the point of control of their thoughts and actions. During the first
Week 18 in BDFL history, the Magic City Mayors exercised this very rare
form of "hoodoo voodoo" to hex the Southside Cheetahs and win Big Daddy
Bowl XX in the Crescent City. "Hoodoo Voodoo" is the only thing that can
explain the bizarre ending of the last game of the NFL regular season
(Chargers vs. Raiders) and the BDFL's grand finale. The 2021 BDFL
championship was decided by a two-point conversion by the Mayors'
QB-Justin Herbert/LAC (+1) and the consequential, almost sure-fire extra
point that was not attempted on this play by the Cheetahs' PK-Dustin
Hopkins/LAC (-1). These two points were the deciding factor in this
28-27 barnburner for the 2021 BDFL Championship Title and the
subsequential take home of the coveted Grand Daddy Trophy. It also
helped that the Mayors mesmerized the Cheetahs into leaving 12 defensive
points on the sidelines in Week 18. If Bill Shakespeare were still
alive, he couldn’t have concocted one any better than this thriller.

The Dogs
win the Big Mullet Series again
|
|
INDIANAPOLIS - The Brookside Dogs have won four titles in a row in the
BDFL. First there was a Big Mullet Series (BMS) vict'ry in 2018,
followed by their first BDFL Championship in 2019, then the Big
Mullet Series (BMS) in 2020 and now another BMS win this season
(2021). There is something to be said for never giving up and
finishing strong. Let the record show, the Dogs have a history
of doing just that. In other BDFL News, TheBDFL.com website went
over 6,000 unique viewers in 2021 setting a new annual high as
predicted at
6,029 uniques. TheBDFL.com also hit another all-time record in the month
of December when they reached 1,117 monthly unique viewers,
breaking the previous watermark of 1,014 uniques in October of
2021. The league attributes these new internet highs to quality
content and to a much lesser extent, the social media exposure the
league receives from time to time by the league's media
experts. Next year's goal is to break 7,000 unique viewers in a
calendar year.
