Mayors win with
the power of suggestion

MAGIC
CITY - The Amazing Kreskin was born George Joseph Kresge in 1935 in
Monclair, NJ to Polish and Italian parents. He was a self-proclaimed
mentalist who became popular with his own TV show during the early
1970s. He was inspired to become a mentalist by Lee Falk's "Mandrake the
Magician" comic strip which featured a crime-fighting stage magician.
Kreskin always presented himself as an "entertainer" rather than a
psychic, who operated on the power of suggestion, not the paranormal,
nor supernatural. Kreskin was a regular on 70s and 80s late night
television appearing on The Tonight Show 61 times. One of his
best known tricks was to find his own paycheck for his current
performance during the show. He claimed to have only failed at the trick
12 times in 30 years. Kreskin also claimed Aldoph Hitler used
hypnotic techniques in his speechs with the torch lit parades and the
sombre drum beating as evidence. At the age of 86, Kreskin now
teaches classes to law enforcement groups focused on psychological
methods to jog lost memories through relaxation techniques and detecting
lies through body language and voice inflections. Kreskin is still
active as a live performer and appears regularly on WPIX in New York
City and annually on both the Fox News Channel and CNN to give his New
Year's Day predictions for the coming year that usually pleases both
political parties. In Week 9 of the BDFL, the Mayors continued their own
amazing Magical Mystery Tour run (319 total points to lead the league)
and played some head games on the Bandits to the tune of a 59-25
vict'ry.

Deacons
and Grenadiers make a big deal
|
|
CULLMAN,
AL - The BDFL doesn't make as many trades these days as in the
past. I really don't know why, but that could be changing. The
first trade of the 2021 BDFL season was a huge six-player
blockbuster deal struck between the Grenadiers and the Blue
Deacons in the dark tunnels beneath St. Bernard. In an
organizational shake-up, the G-Men shipped three of their eight
regular starters - QB-Ryan/ATL, RB-Barkley/NYG and
PK-McManus/DEN to the Highlanders for three of their bench
warmers who had some "home state" emotional appeal -
QB-Hurts/PHI, RB-Brown/MIA and PK-McPherson/CIN. Both teams
should benefit from this trade which should be the goal of any
BDFL trade. According to Iron Hand, The Commissioner of the
BDFL, the league's trade deadline will mirror the WORM Rule
deadline of Week 12. No player acquistions of any kind will be
accepted after Week 12 action. NOTE: Immediately after the
trade, the Grenadiers dropped RB-Brown/MIA for Gardendale's own
RB-Howard/PHI using their Week 10 WORM to complete their "home
state" moves. "Go local, or go home" was mumbled low afterwards.
