Mayors make a powerful transformation
KENTUCK
PARK - Shazam! Over the decades the term has become synonymous with
magic and transformation. According to the Mr. Webster "shazam" is used
to indicate an instantaneous transformation, or appearance, dating back
to its unexpected origins from the superhero comic book world of the
1940s. Shazam became synonymous with magic after it's first appearance
in Whiz Comics #2 from February of 1940. SHAZAM was first
introduced as an acronym for the immortal elders with whom Billy Batson
shared his superhuman powers. The BDFL loves acronyms and SHAZAM summed
up the different powers which Billy Batson possessed - "S" for the
wisdom of Solomon; "H" for the strength of Hercules; "A" for the stamina
of Atlas; "Z" for the power of Zeus; "A" for the courage of Achilles;
and "M" for the speed of Mercury. Not a bad set of powers for a
superhero even by today's standards. Not many remember Billy Batson, but
"shazam" stuck to the American vernacular. Gomer Pyle always liked using
the word in his amazement on the Andy Griffith Show of the
1960s. In the BDFL, "shazam" can be used to explain the powerful
transformation of the Magic City Mayors from pretender to contender in
the race for the 2021 BDFL Championship Title. In Week 8, the Cronies
rolled over the DaBlitz 35-20 to move to 5-3 in the rough-and-tumble
Gray Beard Division of the BDFL.

UNKNOWN - A worm hole is a speculative structure linking
disparate points in spacetime. Worm holes are consistent with
Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity. This theoretical
path in space that could potentially lead to rapid space travel
was re-discovered by Albert Einstein in 1935. Whether worm holes
actually exist remains to be seen. Conversely, the WORM Hole is
a real path that allows teams to move players at a rapid pace
each week in the BDFL designed by the league's Commissioner,
Iron Hand.
