Chiefs News: Browns 'no match' for early-season Patrick Mahomes - Arrowhead Pride

Deacons break on thru to the other side

CAHABA COUNTY, AL - "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" is a rock song written and recorded by The Doors. It was the opening track of their debut album, The Doors in 1967. Electra Records issued the song as the group's first single and it reached an underwelming #126 rank in the United States. Despite the single's failure to impact the record charts, the song became a concert staple for the band and a cult classic ever since. At that time, Jim Morrison's lyrics revealed a literacy that had rarely been incorporated into rock music. "Break On Through" was actually released before "Light My Fire" which became the band's first #1 hit spending three weeks at the top spot in the Summer of 1967. In Week 4 of the BDFL, everybody had their popcorn ready, as advised, awaiting the shootout that had been forecasted on Twitter for this one, but in the end, it was just another boring blowout. After starting the season 0-3, the Blue Deacons showed their patience, class, resilence and relentlessness to stay the course as they finally broke on through to the other side to wreck the Bandits 43-22 in a Green Horn Division grudge-match that dates back to the Snow Rogers vs. Pineywood rivalry days.

BDCS: Eight wins required for the Elite 8

NEW ORLEANS - With the NFL moving to 17 regular season games over 18 weeks, the BDFL has moved to 15 regular season games and three weeks of post-season. With the old 14-week regular season, the BDFL used to require at least seven regular season wins to qualify for their elite post-season known as the Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS). With the expansion of the regular season, the BDFL has upped the ante to eight regular season wins to qualify for the league's "Elite 8" post-season playoffs to determine the league's championship. Take note, the league reserves the right to alter the regular season schedule in Week 15 to make sure we have at least eight teams for the BDCS. It could get very interesting in Week 15 for a few on the annual Pucker Poll.
