The Grenadiers march into the BDCS

WESTERN HILLS - If you guarantee something as "ironclad" you are emphasizing that the plan has been carefully put together and it is absolutely certain to work and be successful. Think Joe Namath in Super Bowl III. An ironclad guarantee can’t be broken, or taken back. An ironclad contract is unbreakable. An ironclad promise can be believed wholeheartedly. If you were arrested on ironclad charges, you’re going to be found guilty. Originally, the word had a very literal meaning coming from the ironcladed wooden warships of the 19th century that were wrapped with iron for protection from their enemies, including pirates. These iron plated battleships were invincible in battle and were guaranteed to win in skirmishes against the traditional wooden warships of the time. Since then, this word has become more metaphorical, but it still applies to things you can trust and count on in this world. The BDFL is ironclad. What you can trust moving forward this season is that the BDFL will give eight (8) deserving teams a chance to win the 2019 BDFL Championship Title and that the annual three-week Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS) will be run with class and integrity, as usual. In Week 14, the Mineral Springs Grenadiers marched through Glen Oaks Park to waylay the Wildcats (49-17) and punch their ticket to the 2019 BDCS and joined the rest of the Elite Eight field in the BDFL's most prestigious post-season competition. The next three weeks will determine the ironclad Champions of the BDFL for the 2019 season. Iron Hand by Dire Straits (1991)
