| Joe Burrow should have his name called by the hometown Bengals with the first pick | |||
Everybody's All-American - Part II CINCINNATI - Everybody's All-American is a 1988 American sports drama fiction flick roughly based on the high life and hard times of former LSU running back Billy Cannon. The film covers 25 years in the life of a college football hero starring Dennis Quaid, Jessica Lange, Timothy Hutton and John Goodman. Quaid plays Gavin Grey who is known as "The Grey Ghost" and he's a superstar at "Louisiana University". His girlfriend is Babs Rogers played by Lange and Goodman plays his teammate and best friend. I was at Tiger Stadium in 1987 for the Alabama vs. LSU game for some of the game filming at halftime, so I'm sure that I'm in the crowd somewhere. It's 100% Hollywood, but worth seeing, if you haven't already seen it. Joe Burrow's college football career story is more unbelievable than this movie. Buried on the depth chart at Ohio State, Burrow transfers to "Louisiana State University" and sits out a year. Struggles mightily as the starter the next year and in his final 5th year senior season, he miraculous becomes one of the best players in college football history, walks away with Heisman Trophy and propels his team to win the CFP national championship. As if that wasn't enough for Bayou Joe, he is drafted #1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by his hometown Cincinnati Bengals and is guaranteed $50 million dollars as the top pick. If this screenplay was fiction and had been submitted as a movie script, all the Hollywood film companies would have turned it down because it was too unbelievable. It will make for a great movie one day and audiences won't believe that it was a true story. Thus you have it, truth is in fact, stranger than fiction.

| 2020 PONY DRAFT PROSPECTS | |||
Burrow earned this top spot with his play this season. The 5th year transfer from Ohio State has played his way to the top overall quarterback in the 2020 class. Don't overthink this one. |
Jeudy was the best receiver in college football last year and will be the first receiver taken in the 2020 NFL Draft, nobody else is even close. He breaks ankles. |
Tua could have been the #1 overall pick had he not been injured in the Mississippi State game in which he had no business playing in at all. The Dolphins have a ton of picks and can take a chance. |
Lamb would be second string at Alabama, but he did put up some gaudy numbers while at Oklahoma. The Giants need more weapons for Daniel Jones and the new coach, Justin Judge. |
Hebert is big and strong and can help the Chargers as they move forward into the new stadium in Los Angeles. He can tutor behind Rivers until he is ready to take the reigns. |
Taylor was on this list last year, but came back for his senior season in Madison. A cold-weather back, he fits nicely into the Bills mentality to be a physical football team. |
Bulldog backs usually do better in the NFL than they did at UGA. Swift is a great name for a back unless you are big and slow and he is neither. Texans need some more help behind Hyde. |
Iron Hand predicts that Ruggs will break the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Combine and shoot up all the draft boards. I know Al Davis would have traded up to draft HR3. |
Clemson bills themselves as WRU and you can't really argue with them at this point because of the talent they have delivered at the position. Higgins is the next Tiger in the NFL pipeline. |
The Chiefs like offensive weapons to put on the field with Patrick Mahomes. Dobbins is tough and will be an upgrade to a backfield full of guys with the last name "Williams". |
The 49ers have a backfield by committee. Look for the combination of free agency, the NFL Draft and Kyle Shanahan to get this down to two backs, one being the Donut Man. |
The Jaguars hit the jackpot a couple of years back when they drafted a couple of other Bengal Tigers. We look for them to go back to the well again in Baton Rouge to dip Jefferson. |
You get bonus points for pronouncing his name correctly. Shenault makes the list based on the hype coming out of Boulder and the Broncos need to replace Emanuel Sanders in this draft. |
The Colts need a quarterback for the future. Eason may be a perfect pick to sit behind Brissett for a couple of years before he is ready to play in the NFL. |
Bruce Arians is the Quarterback Whisperer. Now he needs somebody who will listen and pay attention. He'll be so happy to get rid of Famous Jameis that he'll draft a QB in the first round. |
Yes, they need a quarterback, but will wait another year to trade up and take Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft. Kyle Allen will do for another year. Kmet to be the next Greg Olson. |
The Cowboys will desperately need a quality wide receiver once Amari Cooper tells them to take a hike and they won't have to go too far to get this Horned Frog over in Ft. Worth. |
Other than Devante Adams, the Packers have no big names, nor big playmakers at the receiver position. This needs to change, so look for the Pack to draft a few pass catchers in April. |
Route running is his forte. Johnson could be the first Gopher to be selected in the first round since Laurence Maroney in 2006 and the highest-drafted receiver in the history of the program. |
With a short passing game, the Steelers could use another tight end. Look for them to add some young depth to the position as they eventually transition away from Vance McDonald. |
Jalen reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson. From his game to his leadership skills and even the similarities of their post-grad transfer process. He would be the ideal back-up in Seattle. |
Think about a combination between Russ Francis and Gronk. The Patriots are weak at the position they helped define in today's game. If they don't get Albert, they will draft another tight end. |
The Rams could use a more versatile back to complement Gurley and Brown, and this guy could fit the ticket. However, don't be surprised if the Rams take a QB to give Goff some competition. |
A dual-threat quarterback in high school, Jennings is an athlete first and a receiver second. Former Vols seem to blossom outside the Knoxville culture and we like Jennings with the Vikings. |
The Lions got down to their third string quarterback in 2019 and desperately need a quality back-up behind Stafford for the next few years and I can see them drafted somebody like Fromm. |
A deep sleeper on most war room boards, we think Golden could be a diamond in the rough. The Redskins need help everywhere, especially at receiver to help build around Haskins and McLaurin. |
When Derrick Henry is out, the Titans running game suffers. This Pony is a physical back that is needed to back Henry up, if Tennessee wants a physical running game on every play. |
Jared Cook and Ben Watson are long in the tooth. Drew Brees will need more short options, if he wants to continue to be effective. Hooking him up with another Boilermaker makes sense here. |
With Pro Bowlers on the outside and in the backfield, the Browns need intermediate receivers in the new coach's attack. Slot receivers and tight ends fit the mold. Pinkney could be both. |
Why the Bears let Jordan Howard get away, I'll never know. Akers is a complete back in the Dalvin Cook mode and then Cohen and Montgomery can relieve him instead of vise versa. |
The Eagles need receivers and running backs and this guy can do both. With the Army/Navy game in Philadelphia every year, the Eagles should be on the frontline to draft and develop Perry. |
As Lamar Jackson develops even more as a passer, look for the Ravens to add more and more skill to their receiving corps and Aiyuk could be the next piece of the puzzle. |
