Armos put up 65 points to annihilate DaBlitz

TUSCALOOSA, AL - In a World War II reenactment (yes, they really do have these) near Kentuck Park on Saturday, the original USS Texas battleship (better known as the Texas Armada) helped knock off the Germans at Normandy to secure the ground invasion vict’ry on D-Day just like it did on June 6, 1944. Over 100,000 were in town to witness this heroic re-defeat of Hitler’s infamous Blitzkrieg military forces. The original USS Texas battleship made its way up to Titletown from Coastal Carolina to Mobile Bay and then up to Druid City via the Tombigbee and Black Warrior rivers to participate in this epic WWII Veterans Day Weekend spectacle. A small skirmish with the Bama Belle on the BWR on Friday night only added to the excitement of this big military appreciation weekend in West Alabama. Back to the real story. Omaha Beach was in danger of collapsing due to a stronger than anticipated German resistance and the inability of the Allies to get needed armor and artillery units on the beach. In an effort to help the soldiers fighting to take Omaha, destroyers including the USS Texas (BB-35) provided much needed gunfire support near the shoreline to weaken the German front. The battleship successfully fired upon snipers and machine gun nests hidden in the hills just off the beach to support the ground forces’ final and legendary invasion which helped end the war and secure vict'ry.
