Rice Rockets decimate the Black Creek Nation

BLACK CREEK, AL - The rivalry between Gardendale and Fultondale goes way way back and is more akin to the Hatfields and the McCoys than any modern day football grudge match. It dates back to the early 1800s when the two North Jefferson County communities were called Jugtown and Lewisburg. The origins of the fierce rivalry isn't truly known, but the legend of the rivalry has its roots soaked in moonshine. Back then, the best corn liquor in the county was brewed in the hills and hollows of Coalburg on the southwest edge of Lewisburg by escaped labor convicts from the neighboring coal mines, while just up Fieldstown Road in nearby Jugtown most of the locals worked in the large jug and churn factory which was famous for producing the best clay pottery jugs and churns in the country. When the factory refused to sell their pristine jugs to the convicts for their moonshine containers, the convicts went out of business and they always blamed their failures on the townspeople of Jugtown thus perpetuating the bitter rivalry for over two centuries now.

2016 BDFL Sup Draft puts some meat on the bone

AUDUBON PLACE - The league's annual "patch draft" put 14 new players on BDFL rosters in Week 8 with surprising results on Sunday. Newly aquired PK-Lutz/NO scored 16 points for the Wildcats earning The Big Daddy of the Week award while RB-Gillislee/BUF notched six points for the Grenadiers. Two new Sup Draft tight ends (Doyle/IND and Rudolph/MIN) earned starts for the Cheetahs and Dogs respectfully, but didn't score in Week 8. We do expect big things from some other Sup stars in the future including RB-West/BAL, PK-Parkey/CLE and PK-Gould/NYG.
