The Armadillos are unscathed thru Week 5

DUNCANVILLE, TX - In some rural places in South Texas, armadillos are referred to as "gravediggers". It comes from their inclination to dig in soft dirt and make small dirt piles, similar to freshly dug graves, while they are searching for insects to eat. This season, the local Armadillos have earned "The Grave Diggers" moniker by burying their first five foes six-feet under in route to an impressive 5-0 record through Week 5. The latest victims were the Magic City Mayors who got steamrolled and buried (43-29) by the Texas Armada on Sunday at Old Panther Field. The hard-shelled mammals were given their current name by the first Spanish Conquistadors to the New World in the early 1520s which means “small armored thing" while the native Aztecs, who the Spaniards unmercifully conquered and destroyed, called the pre-historic looking animals "azotochtli" which means “turtle-rabbit.” In the BDFL, we just call them unscathed and undefeated.

The BDFL goes Back To The Future, Part II next week

HILL VALLEY, CA - Back to the Future, Part II was released on November 22, 1989 about the same time the NFL decided to launch the World League of American Football. So it is only fitting that the BDFL goes back to the WLAF/NFL Europe for their annual Throwback Week in Week 6 2016 during the 30th anniversary of both the movie and the league. Both were never as good as the originals, but Americans and Europeans bought into both like week old bread at the bakery. In Part II, Marty and Doc traveled into the future to 2015 and tried to get into the BDFL Draft war room, but were denied by security.
