The Mean Machine

An inside look at the BDFL's Fairfield PowerSleds

by Mad Jack Barnes

FAIRFIELD -

The story behind the Mean Machine

from The Media Syndicate

FAIRFIELD - On a hot August night in 1995 in a dark hot room at 303 Edgewood Blvd. near Green Springs, the BDFL was born. Seven teams gathered together for the first BDFL Draft with another on the line from Media Void. Team names were suggested by the Commissioner, Iron Hand, and awaited approval by each teams. The PowerSleds, Condors and Mean Machine were all strongly considered by the Fairfield franchise. The Mean Machine from the Burt Reynolds movie "The Longest Yard" was the early favorite but lost out to the PowerSleds in the end. However, because of this close decision, the Mean Machine has always been referred to and linked to the Fairfield team and the PowerSleds.

   THE BIG STORY

With the most points in the league in 2005, the PowerSleds are once again powerful

FAIRFIELD - A vertical home run threat, Santonio Holmes will be a welcome commodity in the BDFL. The 5'10'' 190 lb. receiver plays much bigger than his size and he has the potential to score on any play from anywhere. The second cousin of Jacksonville Jaguars RB-Fred Taylor, Holmes has the bloodlines to be successful. With great big play potential, the talented Holmes is sure to be a weapon for the PowerSleds this fall. Combine Homes with a stellar BDFL Genuine Draft, that the Sleds are known form, and Mad Jack Barnes will have another contending team for yet a third BDFL title.

Pony pick Santonio Holmes hopes to bring the Fairfield PowerSleds their third unprecedented BDFL title in 2006
