An inside look at the BDFL's Benton Bullets

by Bullet Hand

Ready, Aim, Fire!
MEDIA VOID - The Benton Bullets have cleaned up their act and are going retro in 2006. The new look Bullets – sans beard – are flashing back to the form that won them the BDFL Championship in 1997. The Bullets remain the only Hand-Slovensky team to capture a BDFL Title (be it tainted or otherwise). In ’06 you can look for the Lowndes County Firing Squad to shoot down the competition with deadly precision and accuracy.

Thank you very little note
LOWNDES CO. - The Benton Bullets would like to cordially thank the “schedule maker” for matching the Bullets up with the lowly Slovaks in week one of the 2006 BDFL season. The Bullets recognize the hard work and dedication that goes into the grueling work of scheduling 16-teams for 14-weeks of tough BDFL play. Besides that, we look forward to starting 1-0.

The Edmund Pettis Bridge is the gateway to Selma where the Benton Bullets will play the Rocky Ridge Wildcats in Week 3 of the 2006 BDFL season.

   THE BIG STORY

Bullets ink one-game deal with the City of Selma

BENTON - The Benton Bullets have inked a one-game deal with the City of Selma to play their 2006 home opener at Terry Leach Field at Bloch Park in Selma. The game will coincide with the reenactment of the “Battle of Selma,” as the Bullets take on the Mildcats, in week three of the BDFL season. The game will be sponsored by Budweiser of Selma (despite the Coors Light-Silver Bullet look of the Bullets) and Bush Hog, which has its corporate offices in Selma. Just 11-miles away from Benton – in nearby Dallas County – the game will give the small town Bullets additional exposure, sort of like when the Packers used to play a game or two in Milwaukee (or Miliwawkey – which stands for the “good land.”) And, “they’re paying us a fortune,” said Bullet.
