An inside look at the BDFL's Jugtown Juggernauts

by Clay Barnes

JUGTOWN - Back before progress came to North Jefferson County there wasn't a whole lot going on north of Birmingham. Sure you had a few beer joints and honky tonks on US Highway 31 (Hooten's for example) heading towards Cullman, but the real action was in the boonies where cock fighting and moon shining were thriving. This was before plastic jugs and glass was still fragile and undependable. The locals needed a better container for the South's finest corn liquor. So from this need sprang a jug factory built to supply jugs to the local entrepreneurs. The jug plant was so successful it drew workers to the area and soon a small town had emerged. That town was called Jugtown. Many years later after plastic and glass became more accepted, the jug factory was shut down and moved to the hills of East Tennessee. The town leaders seeking to change the past voted to change the name to Gardendale and the rest is history.

The big and physical Joseph Addai will be a workhorse in the pros with the potential to score a ton of touchdowns in the BDFL

   THE BIG STORY

Under the radar most of his college career, Joseph Addai is a giant sleeper

FOXBORO - Like Dominick Davis before him at LSU, Addai has the potential to be a better player in the pros than he was in college. His build (6'0 214 lbs) is idea for an every down back in the pros and his style of running is great for goal line situations. If Addai can get the touches that Edgerrin James got, then 2006 will be a banner year for the Indianapolis Colts and the Jugtown Juggernauts.
