Jumping The Broom The Tribe rattles off an unbelievable 10 straight wins to finally win their first title after 17 years as the league's bridesmaid NASHVILLE - "Jumping the broom" is a phrase and custom related to wedding ceremonies in many different cultures over time and around the world including Africa, England, Scotland, Wales, Hungary and even in Native America in particular with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in nowadays Alabama. However, the Black Creek Indians have had a hard time getting over the broom. "Poor 'ol Kawliga, he never got a kiss. Poor ol Kawliga, he don't know what he missed.
