BDCS: The Favored Four All four of the higher seeds won in Week 15 to advance to the semi-finals of the BDFL's Big Daddy Championship Series OAK MOUNTAIN - An epic shoot-out, a couple of blow-outs and an overtime win all highlighted the first round of the BDCS in Week 15. The Tribe kept their eight-game winning streak alive by burying the Grenadiers, the Slovaks out slugged the Sleds, the Mayors annexed Western Hills and the Texas Armada squeaked by the Rice Rockets in a controversial overtime win that is still be audited. From Day 1, the BDFL has always settled tie games with the longest scoring play. Never has it happened in the playoffs, but this week the Armadillos, with the help of a 53-yard Dan Carpenter field goal, got the 31-31 overtime vict'ry over the Juggernauts in a BDFL instant classic to advance. So now we have a Greybeard, one Redneck and two Greenhorns left to settle the mettle for a shot at the Big Daddy Bowl, the 2012 BDFL title and the coveted Grand Daddy trophy for a year.

The Graybeards dominated the rest of the BDFL in 2012 AUDUBON - First of all, the Graybeards have locked down the coveted BDFL Power Ratings for the season with 1627 total points and counting. Secondly, the strong GBD placed three teams in the elite Big Daddy Championship Series (BDCS) making up almost 40% of the field. And lastly, the lone GBD team not qualify for the BDCS was the four-time champion Cheetahs who finished with the league's second highest point total with 406 points, but missed out because of the "Bullet Rule". Any way you slice it, and the Graybeards did slice up the BDFL in 2012, it was a dominating year for the league's elder statesmen. |
