Two World Fairs

Joe Burrow and the Bullcows pulled out all the stops to bludgeon the Bullets down in the Black Belt |
Bullcows ring the Bullets bell in Benton
BENTON,
AL - Now known as the "Frogman's Ballad," this famous military cadence
gained widespread recognition in the 2013 film Lone Survivor,
when the rookie Navy SEAL character Shane Patton (Alexander Ludwig)
recites it during his initiation. There are many variations of the
ballad, but the one from the movie mentions the following: "Been around
the world twice. Talked to everyone once. Seen two whales.... Been to
three World Fairs and I even know a man in Thailand with a wooden....
Never shoot a large caliber man with a small caliber bullet. Anything in
life worth doing is worth overdoing. Moderation is for cowards." The
ballad is a traditional, vulgar boast historically recited by U.S. Navy
UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) and SEAL divers to show off their
rugged, worldly experiences. This lingo all came from somewhere else in
the American parlance, the military just picked it up, added to it over
time, and now it's part of their informal initiation vernacular and a
rite of passage. The coal bucket, West Alabama truck-driving CB version
is slightly different, but just as effective nonetheless. Used at least
once on a Birmingham police officer at the Birmingham–Shuttlesworth
International Airport (BHM) after driving around in circles for two
hours and being run off from numerous terminal parking spots, it went
something like this..."I've been to two World Fairs and one goat.... and
thought I'd seen it all... But I've never seen anything like this
bull....". In Week 5 of the BDFL's 32nd season, we saw the previously
winless Bellcows get on track by bludgeoning the Bullets 51-18 in a
behind woodshed whipping. In a desperation move, the Bellcows unveiled their
ALT HELM 2026 helmets along with the matching road unies to help secure
the vict'ry. The Bellcows took some "country-connect" liberties with their
Operation: ALT HELM 2026 opportunity and altered their nickname and team
colors along with their alternate helmet. The Bellcows ALT HELM motif
paid off and paid tribute to the original Birmingham Bulls of the World Hockey
Association (WHA) who played major league
hockey at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center (BJCC) 1976-79.

AUDUBON
PLACE - This season, the BDFL will take on a "Back to the
Future" theme and take the 1981 DMC DeLorean to 2076 to
celebrate the country's tricentennial and take a glimpse at an
expanded NFL consisting of a whopping 48 teams. The NFL has
divided the 16 new markets into four new divisions with new team
names. In 2026, each BDFL team will represent one of these new
NFL clubs and compete against each other in Week 6 of the 2026
BDFL season. In a Polaroid snapshot of 2076, U.S. "video"
markets have continued to merge (San Antonio/Austin,
Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto, etc.) leading to more statewide and
regional team names similar to Arizona, New England, Tennessee,
Minnesota in today's game. Acceptance of American football has
continued to grow in neighboring countries, overseas and into
the Pacific Rim. Fifty years before then, each BDFL team will represent one of these new NFL
clubs and compete against each other in Week 6 of the 2026 BDFL
season. BDFL team assignments included Texas Toros (Armadillos),
Alabama Hammers (Vulcans), Memphis Jungle Kings (Mayors),
Florida Renegades (PowerSleds), St. Louis Spirit (Cheetahs), San
Diego Seals (Sloth Monsters), Oklahoma Outlaws (Bullets), Hawaii
Voyagers (Bandits), Utah Blizzard (Wildcats), Sacramento Swarm
(Freebirds), Quebec Acadians (Gamblers), Mexico City Matadors
(Bellcows), Berlin Blitzkrieg (Blitz),
Rome Gladiators (Grenadiers), London
Monarchs (Juggernauts) and Barcelona Dragons (Dogs).|
