2027 BDFL Pony Draft Watch
List
|
|
 #1
WR-Jeremiah Smith OSU
Smith is the most complete receiver
to come out of the draft since Julio Jones in 2011. Most don't
remember the Falcons gave up five draft picks to the Browns
including two first rounders to move up 21 spots to draft Julio
6th overall. Smith will go higher than 6th.
|
|
 #2
RB-Cam
Cook UWV
The BDFL
media experts have fallen in love with the former Jax State
standout. They predict RichRod will feed the beast at West
Virginia this season and that Cook could lead the nation in
rushing. We have the Bengals taking Cook in the 2027 NFL Draft.
|
|
 #3
RB-Jaden Baugh UF
Baugh has been under the radar since
Florida has been in the dark ages lately. The new blow hard
coach will try to make the Gators tougher and this should help
Baugh's game. We have him penciled in with John Harbaugh and the
Giants since RB depth is an issue.
|
|
 #4
WR-Cam Coleman UTA
The Auburn transfer should flourish
under real offensive minds in Austin. The Rams would be an ideal
spot for Coleman to land and he would be the zag to Puka's zig
in Sean McVay's explosive offense. The BDFL media experts have
Coleman as the #2 WR in this class.
|
|
#5
QB-Drew Mestemaker OKS
Burgermeister Meisterburger.
Burgermeister is German for "Mayor" and he's the main antagonist
in the 1970 Christmas classic Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.
As the tyrannical Mayor of Sombertown, he despises toys and
arrests anyone who plays with, or owns a toy.
|
|
 #6
WR-Ryan
Williams UA
The Panthers got a true #1 receiver in
the 2026 draft with McMillan, but won't be able to pass on
Williams, if he's available in the first round when their number
comes up in 2027. The last year as been a transformative year
for Ryan and he's due a standout season.
|
|
 #7
QB-Trinidad Chambliss OM
The Justin Fields Experiment didn't go
well in New York last eason and the Geno Smith Experiment won't
go well either in 2026. Look for the Jets to tank again and put
all their marbles behind Chambliss in the 2027 NFL Draft.
|
|
 #8
QB-Arch
Manning
UTA
We're not as high on Arch Manning as
the media pundits, but think he'll go in the early first round of
the 2027 NFL Draft. If nothing else, it would be cool to see him
wearing his grand dad's #8 running for his life in the Superdome
for a few seasons.
|
|
#9
WR-Omarion Miller ASU
Many of the BDFL's media experts have
Miller just below Smith as the #2 WR in this class, however, we
do not. Big 12 defenses pad stats for the skill players in the
conference. Nonetheless, there is talent here and we see him
going high to Denver in the NFL Draft.
|
|
#10
QB-Dante Moore ORE
Baker
Mayfield can't play forever and the Bucs will be in the market for
their quarterback of the future in this upcoming NFL Draft. It
could be Moore, or someone else, but look for Moore to be one of
the top four quarterbacks to come off the board in April.
|
|
#11
RB-Kewan Lacy
OM
James Cook and Ray Davis will
eventually bolt for free agency since the Bills have put all
their money on Josh Allen and they will need a couple more
dependale backs. With a new stadium and a new head coach in Joe
Brady, the future is now in Upper New York.
|
|
#12
QB-CJ Carr ND
Aaron Rodgers is just about done in
Pittsburgh. We don't know much about Carr, but we know the
Steelers will need a quarterback for the future. If not the
Steelers, look for a team desperate for a quarterback to select
Carr in the 2027 NFL Draft.
|
|
 #13
RB-Darius Taylor MIN
The BDFL's media experts had Taylor
coming out last season, but they were dead wrong. The 49ers like to stockpile running backs
and Taylor wouldn't be a bad one to stack on the depth chart
behind Christian McCaffrey, Brian Robinson, Kaelon Black and
others.
|
|
#14
WR-Charlie
Becker IU
Speed
kills and if any team understands this fully, it is the Raiders.
Becker is a former Father Ryan High track star who fell to the
Hoosiers before the dramatic resurgence in Bloomington. He's an
honorary "Stoner" now and should have an excellent season.
|
|
 #15
RB-Ahmad
Hardy MIZ
Hardy is coming off a gunshot wound
and it will be interesting to see how it effects his game. The
former LaMo product has been productive in CoMo, but not so much
in the big games. We see the Patroits building more depth behind
Henderson and Stevenson.
|
|
#15
QB-LaNorris
Sellers SC
The Dolphins will be in the market for
a franchise quarterback in the 2027 NFL Draft and Sellers could
be the guy, if Beamer Clever doesn't ruin him in Columbia, SC
this season. Sellers may have the highest ceiling of any QB in
this Class of 2027.
|
|
 #17
QB-Darian
Mensah MIA
It's time for the Lions to be
thinking about life without Jared Goff. The jury is still out on
Mensah, but Miami's boatload of offensive weapons even made
Carson Beck look good at times last season. We'll keep a close
eye on Mensah as he could move up the list.
|
|
#18
PK-Tate Sandell OU
A lot of teams will be looking for a
kicker in 2027 and Sandell will be the best in
this class. The NFL should make him wear football pants instead
of bike shorts. The Titans haven't had a reliable kicker since
Rob Bironas, so Sandell makes sense in the new HonkeyTonkDome.
|
|
#19
WR-Ryan Wingo UTA
The Ravens have a new head coach in
Jesse Minter and
he'll need some better players, if he plans to stick around for
awhile. Look for Wingo to get alot of single coverage this
season and have a breakout year worthy of a 1st round draft pick
in 2027.
|
|
 #20
QB-Sam Leavitt LSU
We think Leavitt will be glad to get
out of Baton Rouge after one season on the Lane Train. If the
J.J. McCarthy experiment doesn't pan out, the Vikings may take
multiple quarterbacks in the 2027 NFL Drfat and Leavitt may very
well be one of them.
|
|
 #21
WR-Wyatt Young OU
The Texans are pretty solid on defense
these days, but DeMeco Ryans still needs more points and
production from CJ Stroud and the offense. Young is still a
project in our book, but has the potential to breakout this
season in Norman.
|
|
 #22
WR-Mario Craver A&M
The Bears lost DJ Moore to the Bills
and Luther Burden and Rome Odunez may not be enough firepower on
the outside for Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams. So, look for the
Monsters of the Midway to add to the wide receivers room in the
2027 NFL Draft.
|
|
 #23
QB-Drake Lindsey MIN
Dak Prescott has never really had a
good back-up since he's been in Dallas. Not much is known of
Lindsey except he's been rowing the boat up in Minnesota for the
last couple years. At 6'5" and 230 lbs., Lindsey will get some
attention, if he comes out for the draft.
|
|
#24
TE-Jamari Johnson UO
The
Seahawks have been without a big time tight end since Will
Dissly departed for the LA Chargers in 2024. JJ is considered
one of the top two tight ends in this class and should be one of
the first TEs to come off the board in the 2027 NFL Draft.
|
|
 #25
QB-Julian Sayin OSU
We think Sayin need sto stay in school
another season, but if he comes out for the 2027 NFL Draft, we
think he could end up in Green Bay. The Pack likes their young
quarterbacks to marinate a couple years and this would serve
both Sayin and the Packers well.
|
|
 #26
QB-John Mateer OU
He should have come out for the draft
last season, but still needs development from the neck up.
Daniel Jones surprised everyone in Indigenapolis last year, but
his time is limited in the new "football" state. We like Riley
Leonard, but Mateer will be tough to pass up.
|
|
 #27
WR-Nick Marsh UI
If Indiana keeps this up, they could
become WRU. Marsh and Becker are almost guaranteed productive
seasons this season with the Hoosiers offense against a steady
dose of Big 10 defenses. We have Marsh ending up in Jacksonville
during the 2027 NFL Draft.
|
|
 #28
TE-Terrance Carter TT
Entering
the 2026 college football season as a redshirt senior, Carter is
widely regarded as one of the most explosive pass-catching
weapons and dynamic playmakers in the nation Eagles took
TE-Eli Stowers last year and they could take another TE in the
2027 draft.
|
|
 #29
QB-Jayden Maiva USC
The
Commandos seem to be set at quarterback
for the next decade with Jayden Daniels, so this would be a pick
for draft equity and a back-up role for the "other" Jayden.
Maiva should be NFL ready after playing in Lincoln Riley's
offense at USC.
|
|
#30
RB-Treyson Potts PSU
Jim Harbaugh
likes to pound the rock, but you need depth at running back to
do so, a lesson he learned last season when the injury bug hit
the Chargers backfield. Potts is new to the BDFL's radar, so
we'll be monitoring his production closely this season.
|
|
#31
TE-Trey'Dez Green LSU
It's
hard to see anything good getting off the Lane Train this
season, but if there is, it may be Green. Lane used to scheme
the tight end open when he was at Bama and if he can do it again
in Baton Rouge, then Green could have a big season down on the
bayou.
|
|
 #32
RB-Justice Haynes GT
Haynes does a little too much
transferring for my blood, so I think the scouts will question
his commitment. However, it will be hard to question his talent.
With a solid season in the ACC with the Jackets and a little karma,
we see him staying in ATL with the Falcons.
