Big Daddy Bowl Set – Cats and Dogs to fight it out in Week 18 for all the marbles |

Cheetahs and Dogs Rise to the Top: An epic Big Daddy Bowl is set. It’ll be two of the “Magnificent 7” playing for the big prize, the Grand Daddy Trophy, after their visit to the “Grand Daddy of ‘em all,” the Rose Bowl. Let the hype begin right here in the Week 17 edition of The Bulletin. Butch Neal and Mark Burr are headed to Pasadena, California, to see Alabama take on #1 ranked Indiana in the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff. Then, it will be a BDFL Championship Game on a grand scale never before seen in fantasy football hist’ry. It’s Cats and Dogs. It’s Swank Southside vs. Beleaguered Brookside. It’s two teams that have had great seasons and hot playoff runs thus far in the BDCS. The Sin Wagon and Mark’s Mutts have rolled to the Big Daddy Bowl with semi-final, blowout, A.W.’s that will get this week’s publication of The Bulletin going at warp speed with game summaries from the penultimate week of 2025 in the BDFL.
Sin Wagon Rolls Over ‘Nauts – Semi-Final A.W. #1: The Southside Cheetahs left no doubt as to who is the number one seed, and the odds-on favorite in the BDFL this year. In the semi-finals of the Big Daddy Championship Series, the Sin Wagon rolled all over the Jugtown Juggernauts, in an overwhelming A.W., 45-15. The Cheetahs hitched onto King Henry this season, and Derrick Henry has led them all the way back to the Big Daddy Bowl. The former Heisman Trophy winner at Alabama, scored four TDs in Week 17 to basically put a turbo power – with stiff arm ability – to the Sin Wagon. The ‘Nauts never stood a chance. But, instead of wallowing in self-pity… Allyson has decided to head to Pasadena along with the Championship Game participants to partake in a parade and a Rose Bowl game (no confirmation has been received as to the rumor that she is carrying Butch and Dog’s bags).
Dogs Dominate Mildcats – Semi-Final A.W. #2: Brookside City officials say they have contracted out for “someone” to carry all of their luggage from Brookside to California with leftover slush money from all the speeding tickets they administered a few years ago. According to anonymous sources, the funds were laundered through a few synthetic rubber, latex, and spandex contracts, and are now available to pay for travel expenses to Pasadena. The Brookside Dogs are going to the Rose Bowl and to the Big Daddy Bowl. “Mark’s Mutts” dominated the Western Hills Wildcats in Round Two of the Playoffs with a 34-9, A.W. against the “James Gang.” The Mildcats didn’t put up much of a fight against the Dogs. For their lackadaisical effort, the ’Cats were presented with the “Toilet Seat Team of the Weak” award. Meanwhile, the whole City of Brookside is at a fever pitch for their Dogs as they will try to pull off the improbable and upset the Cheetahs in the title game.
Bellcows Upset Freebirds: Speaking of upsets (other the stomach variety), the Fieldstown Bellcows turned the tables on the Black Creek Freebirds in a BDFL consolation contest in the BDCS. The Bell Heads scored 30-points, and that was slightly more-than-enough to upend the F’Birds by three. Eyewitnesses reported that Belrose and Bocephus were spotted after their game at Pasquale’s munching on pizza, smoking cigarettes, kicking back, and talking about the good ol’ days.
Grenadiers Slip Past Sloths: The Mineral Springs Grenadiers got back in the win column by knocking off the Sloth Monsters, 25-14. Both of these teams had some trouble getting up for this game after they were bounced out of contention for the Big Prize in Round One of the BDCS. The Commissioner’s team managed to make a few more plays than the Three Toed Tree Dwellers in this “play for pride” game.
Meanwhile, in the Big Mullet Series: The Duncanville Armadillos continue to prove that they probably belonged with the “big dogs and cats,” over in the other side of the post-season festivities. However, they were done in by the Bullet Rule. In the ‘Dillos personal and professional revenge rampage, they are laying waste to the Big Mullet Series. In Week 17 in the BDFL, the ‘Dillos hammered the North Birmingham Vulcans, 38-20, falling just 3-points short of an A.W. In other games in the BMS, the Druid City Blitz topped the Benton Bullets in the “AISA Bowl,” by the final score of 23-14, although they were undecided about the “greatest tight end” in AISA hist’ry with the vote split evenly three ways between Preston Gothard (Lowndes Academy), O.J. Howard (Autauga Academy), and Jay Lindsey (Patrician Academy). In the Big Mullet Series this past weekend, there was no A.W.s, as the Fairfield PowerSleds topped the Altadena Bandits, 35-18. The week slowed to a stop with the Magic City Mayors defeating the Gulf Coast Gamblers by a final margin of 29-16.
