The Dawg Pound tramples the Niners

The BDFL turns the clock back to 1966 for Throwback Week in Week #6

SAN FRAN – These two All-America Football Conference league rivals were admitted into the NFL in 1950, but the Browns and 49ers did not play each other in 1966. So this one was needed to settle the 48-year feud. Led by the bruising RB tandem of Leroy Kelly (future Hall of Famer) and Charley Harraway (who later played with the WFL's Birmingham Americans), the Browns (Dogs) trampled the Niners (Sloths) 54-37 in a Throwback Week classic. FYI...The Browns beat the Steelers 13-10 in an exhibition game in Birmingham on September 13, 1966.
