The Dogs win the Battle of the Creeks

Giovani Bernard - Tennessee Titans v Cincinnati Bengals

Five Mile Creek drains Black Creek to win the Battle of the Creeks in Week #3

BLACK CREEK - Back in 1989 USSSA came to North Jefferson Co. looking for a site to host their first Class "D" sanctioned tournament. In one corner was Elmo Matthews & Son representing Fultondale and their new gem Black Creek Ball Park. In the other, was Phil Slovensky and Petey Meadows representing Brookside and their humble ball park along the banks of Five Mile Creek. With light poles inside the fencing of the outfield, Brookside needed a wildcard. Offering up Wayne's Place and VFW #64 as pre-game team "meeting" rooms, they won the historic bid.

The BDFL revisits the NFL in 1966 with Throwback Week

TITLETOWN - In 1966 the games were still in black and white, the goal posts were on the goal lines and most of you were still in cloth diapers. Lyndon Johnson was in the White House, the Beatles were making noise and long hair and hippies were just getting started. The NFL fielded 15 teams and the AFL was at nine teams, however the fledging league had forced a game between the two league champions at the end of the season and football was on the cusp of an unprecedented   revolution. It was the end of the establishment and the beginning of the modern day era of pro football.
