Cheetahs, Mayors and Blue Deacons score 50 or more in a wild scoring outburst

GARDENDALE – In town, there has been a debate for decades as to who had the best hoops team in the hist'ry of the high school. Was it George Hasenbein's 1972-73 club led by Dabo Johnson? Or was it Jack Standridge's 1978-79 team led by Alan Arrington? Or was it Jimmy Armstrong's 1981-82 squad led by Jeff Parks? To settle the debate, there was a vote on Tuesday at the Civic Center as part of the general election. The results:1972-73 won for the best warm-up suits. 1978-79 won for the best warm-up routine and 1981-82 won for the best chopping of the feet, or whatever the hell that was they did before the games.
