Rating the first ever BDFL Rolling Rock Pony Draft

by Mel Kiper, Jr.

FOXBORO - Reggie Bush should be a great player in the BDFL for years to come, but the real story will be which rookie players drafted this year in the Rolling Rock Pony Draft will produce next year in the BDFL. After all, that's all that really matters in this new concept created by Iron Hand, the Commissioner of the BDFL. Here's how I rate the best six picks to click in 2006 from first to worst.

1. RB-Reggie Bush/NO - The Slovaks get lucky by finishing as the worse team in the history of the BDFL to get Bush and a chance to be respectable for once.

2. RB-Joseph Addai/IND - If he can get a fraction of Edgerrin's touches this will be the steal of the draft for the Juggernauts.

3. TE-Vernon Davis/SF - The Gamblers get a great value in the 13th slot with a player who could be the next Antonio Gates, or T.O.

4. WR-Santonio Holmes/PIT - He'll start for the PowerSleds and by playing opposite to Hines Ward, he will get lots of one-on-one coverage, so Big Ben will be looking to throw his way early and often.

5. RB-Dee Williams/CAR - He could end up being the #1 starter in Charlotte for the conservative John Fox and the Bootleggers which means he could have many chances to score in 2006.

6. RB-Laurence Maroney/NE - The Pats needed another back behind Corey Dillon and Maroney will get some quality carries which will be a pork barrel bonanza for the Mayors.

   PONY PLAYER PROFILE

The Wizards are hoping that Sinorice Moss grows into the player he can be in the Big Apple

FOXBORO - The Wizards could have come up with just the right motion potion for success at the receiver position this fall thru the BDFL's first annual Rolling Rock Pony Draft. By mixing a little rice (Sinorice) with grass (Moss), the Magic Carpet Ride may have stumbled on to a nice compound for Eli Manning and the New York Giants to use that will produce more TDs than first thought. If Moss develops fast and is anything close to his talented brother (Santana Moss) this could be the pick that propels the Wizards to there 2nd title.

Sinorice Moss is hoping to grow into the #1 receiver for the Wizards of Greystone this upcoming season in the BDFL
