The Knock-Out Punch

Haymakers coldcock the Blitz to set the tone for the Big Daddy Championship Series beginning in Week 15

DRUID CITY - Mr. Webster defines coldcock as "to knock unconscious". Others define it as "to knock down with force". So anyway you define it, the point is pretty clear. In Week 14 of the BDFL, the Woo Crew punched out the Germans like at Normandy to steady the ship and move into the BDCS on a high note. Seven other teams join the Woosiers in the BDFL's post-season ingenious play-off system, the BDCS, to battle their way to the Big Daddy Bowl and a shot at a BDFL Championship. Also punching their ticket to the league's big dance include the Bullets, Wooden Warriors, Sloth Monsters, Gamblers, Cheetahs, PowerSleds and Dogs. Based on the divisional winners and their point totals at this time, the Wooden Warriors, Gamblers, Cheetahs and Woosiers are the early favorites and top seeds of this year's BDCS fight.

Jackson and the Woosiers are moving on up in the BDFL hierarchy

The Big Mullet Series adds two teams to fill out the competition

GULF SHORES - With only 14 teams in the BDFL this year and to keep the BDCS and BMS balanced at eight teams, there needed to be some provisions to keep the Big Mullet Series running efficiently. Therefore, two BDFL wannabee teams, the Homewood Highlanders and the Fieldstown Phantoms were added to the BMS post-season this season. Both rosters are built as starters only from players not on existing rosters. These teams will not be push-overs and will be competitive.
