Crew comes out smokin'

The Smoke Rise Woosiers "bring the heat" to smoke out the Jugtown Juggernauts 57-36 in Week 1 of the BDFL

HAYDEN - When the Woosiers wanted the last pick in the first round of the 2011 BDFL Genuine Draft, you knew they had to be up to something. Laying in the weeds waiting for Matt Stafford, Ray Rice and company, the Woo Crew added to his own legend of talent projector extraordinaire with an "under the radar" draft class that may spell trouble for the BDFL all year long. Mixed in there beneath the Woosiers camouflage is a Pro Bowl kicker in the ageless David Akers and at wide-out the much maligned Kenny Britt, who both could arguably be the best players at their position in the entire league. With this kind of firepower, the Woo Crew could be smokin' the competition and burning up the standings every week. In the other impressive performance of Week 1, the Cheetahs validated their 2010 BDFL title by annihilating the Mayors 54-19 for the week's largest blow-out, all because the Mayor made him watch too much tennis on Saturday.

The RICKA Rule is in effect until Week 2 starters are due

Developed for wasted draft picks like Lawrence Phillips who could not make it to opening day, the RICKA Rule has reduced the whining in the BDFL. RICKA stands for Released, Injured, Cut, Kicked-Off, or Arrested. If a player is RICKAED, you can drop him and pick up an undrafted player to take his place before Week 2 starters are due. So far:
