Get Genuine at the 2013 Draft The BDFL's annual Genuine Draft is set for Saturday, August 24th at 6pm at the Mayors crib in Vestavia Hills TITLETOWN - Over the years I've learned to accept the 80's. It is the decade that influenced most of us whether we believe it, or not. Politically and economically, it will never be matched. However culturally, it was challenged. Hair was important as well as tight clothes and short shorts. Music was all over the place with disco trying to hang on, punk trying to take off and country, Michael Jackson and rock, all fighting for the mainstream. MTV was cool because they still played music and watching cable TV was new and fun. Music videos were the best. Bands basically ran out of themes and resorted to "out weird" each other. I bought a lot of music back then because I was young and impressionable. This was one of my favorites Echo & The Bunnymen's - Bring On The Dancing Horses.
