BULLETin Dedicated to Mukes and the Breals

The BDFL certainly takes a backseat to all of the real life stuff going on with BDFLers.  So, we dedicate the First 2005 BULLETin to those who may be in most need of our thoughts and prayers.  We are thinking about you Mukes and Kenny and your families and praying for you.

Mike Dismukes (Mukes) is scheduled to have open-heart surgery tomorrow (9/14/05) morning at 10 a.m. at University Hospital in Birmingham.  Mukes and Tracy have a baby boy who was born late this summer.  The baby’s name is Dalton.  Please pray for their family.  Jaimie said he would walk over to the hospital from his new job at Children’s Hospital and try to get a report out via email to everyone.

I don’t know any of the specific circumstances facing Kenny Breal and his family and friends, except that Biloxi, Gulfport, and all of the Mississippi Gulf Coast was probably hit the worst by Hurricane Katrina.  Commissioner, if you get an update please send it out via the normal channels.

Since last season, Bullet has moved from one state agency to another, ADECA to ADEM, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.  ADEM (along with EPA, NOAA, and the U.S. Coast Guard) is handling the environmental response and recovery in Alabama. Bullet got to fly over Mobile Bay, Bayou La Batre, Dauphin Island, and East Mississippi on Monday, September 12 (the same day his new son, Milton, turned one-month-old).  The devastation is as bad as any of the reports you’ve heard.  Good luck Kenny.

Jack Barnes and his wife Lisa have a new baby boy, Jackson, who was born in the off-season.  He was at the draft, but some of you may have not seen him or couldn’t make the draft.

I guess everyone knows about Chris’ new job in Nashville.  He actually started up there before Christmas last year, but he’s already got a big promotion.

Adam Slovensky (Fighting Slovaks) and his wife Jennifer are expecting their first child.  Adam – correct me if I’m wrong – are expecting in March.  Jennifer graduated from Ole Miss and I think her some of her family was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina.  Adam, please give us an update.  You can email me at handhand@juno.com or Chris at chris.hand@citcomm.com

and we will try to get it out to everyone.

Lets all stay in touch.
