drops the "Big One" on the Armada
DRUID
CITY - Outsiders say, "There must be something in the water down there",
but if you are familiar with the Black Warrior, then you know that can't
be true. Others say, "It comes from the soil" and this is debatable
since the region has a rich black belt running between the Appalachian
Highlands and the Gulf Coastal Plains, but for me, it's something you can
feel in the air. Phil Collins said it pretty good back in 1981 with
In The Air Tonight,
but as they say in the BDFL, revenge is a dish best served cold.
This weekend, revenge was definitely "in the air tonight" as the
hometown Gritz Blitz carpet bombed the Texas Armada into oblivion, 42-10, to
make up for a couple of flukes a few years ago. This was DaBlitz's most
points in years, but when asked about this team's point total the last
few games, Blitz interim head coach Brian "Rush" DaBol responded by saying, "I really
don't care how many points we've scored in the last four games. I only
care about how many points we score in the next game. I don't have any
feeling about how many points we've scored in four games, or five games,
or however many games we've played. I'm really worried about how many we
score in our next game and how we stop the next team we play. That's the
focus...On what we need to do to dominate the next opponent."
