track down the Armadillos, 42-25
DUNCANVILLE,
TX - The bloodhound is a large scent hound, originally bred for hunting
deer and wild boar and was later used by European noblemen to hunt other
wild game such as fox and fowl for sport. Also since the Middle Ages,
the bloodhound has been used for tracking down human beings. This
thoroughbred line got their name from the special care given in
recording their ancestry, or bloodlines, so they were commonly referred
to as “blooded” hounds beginning in the 12th century. Believed to have
descended from the elite hounds once kept at the Abbey of Saint-Hubert
in Belgium, this unique breed of canine is famed for its ability to
discern and track the human scent over great distances, even over
several days. Its extraordinarily keen sense of smell, combined with a
strong, tenacious tracking instinct has produced the ideal scent-chasing
hound. Today, bloodhounds are used by police and law enforcement all
over the world to track escaped prisoners, missing people, lost children
and lost pets. So tracking down the BDFL's league-leading Armadillos all
the way back to Texas was no problem for the bloodthirsty Brookside
Dogs in
Week 3 of the BDFL.

2017 Throwback Week to honor the Continental Football League in
Week 6
TITLETOWN -
As part of the
BDFL's annual nostalgia "throwback" tradition, each
BDFL team will represent a former CoFL team
in Week 6. The CoFL operated in North America
from 1965 through 1969. It was established following the collapse of the
original United Football League,
and hoped to become a force in pro football outside of
the NFL and AFL. Though the CoFL never rose past minor league football, many pro
football legends including Kenny "Snake" Stabler logged
time in the fledging league.
