The 2017 BDFL Pony Draft Prospectus
It is time for the BDFL's annual Pony Draft Predictions

LATROBE, PA - It's that time of year where the BDFL outshines all other leagues. It's Pony Draft time when the rookies are drafted into the BDFL even before the NFL. The Commissioner of the BDFL, Iron Hand, is back from The Combine in Indianapolis and has his take on where the Pony Class of 2017 is best suited to land this spring. Iron only hit on two players in last year's NFL Draft because he picked way too early last season. Look for Iron to hold his cards a lot longer this year to improve his placement record, but here are his preliminary picks...

2017 BDFL Pony Draft Prospectus
1 RB-Dalvin Cook/FSU Cook is an explosive playmaker that the Bucs could use to solidify their injury-riddled backfield
2 QB-Deshaun Watson/CLM Not NFL-ready just yet, but the 49ers are so desperate for a QB that they reach early for Watson
3 RB-Leonard Fournette/LSU The Saints are always in the market for a running back and Fournette can help sell seats in the Big Easy
4 TE-O.J. Howard/ALA The Patriots get a steal late in the first round with the versatile and athletic Crimson Tide tight end
5 WR-Mike Williams/CLM Clemson receivers do well in the NFL and Williams should follow the same track with the Bills
6 RB-Christian McCaffrey/SU McCaffrey is the type back that could complete the Packers offense and provide needed depth at RB
7 QB-Mitch Trubisky/NC A no-name in college, Trubisky has the tools scouts drool over, so look for him to go to the Bears early
8 RB-D'Onta Foreman/UT Foreman could be the first RB to come off the board. He would look good in the Lions Hawaiian blue unies
9 WR-Corey Davis/WM Davis played under the radar at Western, but will be a high draft pick for the WR needy Cowboys
10 TE-Jordan Leggett/CLM The Raiders have many tools on offense these days, but could use a Dave Casper type tight end again
11 WR-JuJu Schuster/USC The jury is still out on JuJu. I bet he's no Jullian "JuJu" Allen from Gardendale, but the Chiefs will fine out
12 TE-David Njoku/MIA Loaded everywhere else on offense, the Falcons will look to make the tight end a weapon position as well
13 TE-Evan Engram/OM The Texans are desperate for a tight end that can catch the ball and Engram can do that much at least
14 QB-DeShone Kizer/ND Kizer slides on draft day, so the Browns pass early and then trade up to get him late in the first round
15 WR-ArDarius Stewart/ALA Set at runningback and tight end, the LA Chargers add some depth to the receiving corps
16 TE-Bucky Hodges/VT There are a lots of quality tight ends in this draft and the Broncos could use another quality tight end
17 WR-John Ross/WAS The swift Ross can score from anywhere and the Rams could use some firepower on offense for Goff
18 WR-Dede Westbrook/OU A swift playmaker, Westbrook would be a warm welcome to the receiver thin Titans
19 TE-Jake Butt/UM Butt has all the tools to succeed at the next level and should walk in and start for the Dolphins
20 WR-Zay Jones/ECU Pirate receivers seem to transition well to the NFL and the Bengals could use some depth at the position
21 RB-Samaje Perine/OU The Seahawks are in search for another Beast in the great Northwest and Perine may just be the ticket
22 RB-Donnel Pumphrey/SDS Pump is one of the most prolific rushers in NCAA history and the Ravens could use a prolific rusher
23 RB-Wayne Gallman/CLM Gore is on the way out and the Colts plan for the future by taking a couple of runningbacks in this draft
24 RB-Jeremy McNichols/BSU The Panthers need help at tight end and running back, so look for them to draft at both positions
25 WR-Isaiah Ford/VT The Jaguars need help everywhere, but seem set at quarterback and runningback, so receiver is a need
26 QB-Pat Mahomes/TT The Redskins could use some depth behind Cuz and Mahomes could also develop into trade bait
27 WR-Curtis Samuel/OSU The Giants need to take some pressure off of Beckham and the multi-talented Samuel can help out
28 QB-Chad Kelly/OM Kelly has some swagger, but also a suitcase of baggage. Jets won't care because they need a QB
29 PK-Zane Gonzalez/ASU The Vikings still let Walsh go last year during the season and will be looking for a new kicker this draft
30 WR-Cooper Kupp/EWU The Eagles will be stockpiling weapons for Wentz and Kupp could be a good slot guy to have on the shelf
31 QB-Brad Kaaya/MIA Carson Palmer's days are numbered in the desert, so the Cardinals look to the future for a QB
32 QB-Nathan Peterman/PIT The Steelers must start preparing for life after Big Ben and the Peterman is right there in their backyard
