From underneath a rock in Media Void

THE BULLETIN 2015

Living under a rock - It is to be a person who lives in isolation from and has limited knowledge of what is happening in the world around them. Used to describe an ignorant or obtuse person. Usually someone who lives in the basement of their mother's house.

Media Void - A ficticious city in a ficticious country which is free from all types of media and information. Where everybody in the city/state wanders aimlessly around uninformed about everything from the news, to weather, sports and politics.

The BDFL was well represented at the 2012 BCS National Championship Game in Miami, Florida

The Bulletin - Week 17 Another year with more of the same endless babble (or HDBS)

Sloths Sludge to Title – Hang On to One Point Win Over ‘Nauts:

Fittingly, the Silver Lakes Sloth Monsters sloshed to a dramatic one-point win in the Big Daddy Bowl to claim the 2015 BDFL Championship, and the right to hoist the most prestigious trophy in all of Fantasy Football, The Grand Daddy.

Mukes - 2015 BDFL Champion

Let the celebration be long and loud.

The final score was 12-11. Mukes’ Sloth Monsters edged the Jugtown Juggernauts in one of the ugliest, sloppiest, weather-plagued Big Daddy Bowls of all times, but it was one for the ages. The Tree Toed Tree Dwellers were able to hold on to a one-point vict’ry when it seemed to be slipping away on Sunday afternoon. Without plausible thumbs, and with only three fingers (on each hand/claw), the Sloths held on and held on and now they will be able to hold onto The Grand Daddy.

Representing the Null Set Club, Allyson battled to the very end to try and claim her first BDFL Championship. But, it was not to be. In the low-scoring, defensive struggle, the ‘Nauts just came up one-point short. The Bulletin is not big on placing blame, but in one-point games, coaching is critical. And, A.E. made a critical mistake. For her mistake, she lost the Big Daddy Bowl, but won the “Bonehead of the Week” award. The Bra Burners started Tom Brady at QB, and he scored zero. The Rice Rockets left Matthew Stafford on the bench, and he scored 9-points, which would have easily given the ‘Nauts their first-ever championship.

As it is, Allyson will remain (at least for another year) in the Null Set Club, not quite able (yet) to get her hands on the prize (the coveted Helmet O’ Silver). Maybe the BDFL just wasn’t ready for a female champion (maybe not).

Meanwhile, Mukes is already celebrating. The White Grenada with the Yellow Canoe tied on top seems to be in a constant parade route around Silver Lakes, with the horn blaring.

The Son of Slim captures his second BDFL Championship and his first since 2001. The 13-years between titles is the second longest in league history (1. Power Sleds, 14-years; 3. Bullets, 10-years). And, since the Grand Daddy wasn’t designed until 2008, it will be Mukes’ first time to officially hoist the big prize.

So, the Bulletin would like to congratulate the Silver Lakes Sloth Monsters for winning the 2015 BDFL Championship.
