The 2016 BDFL Pony Draft Preview

2016 BDFL PONY DRAFT

With a ton of talent coming in 2016, look for the Pony Draft to be a free-for-all

TITLETOWN - It's that time of year where the BDFL outshines all other leagues. It's Pony Draft time when rookies are drafted into the BDFL even before the NFL. The Commissioner of the BDFL, Iron Hand, is back from The Combine in Indianapolis and has his take on where the Pony Class of 2016 is best aligned for prosperity. Iron hit on eight players to their NFL destination last season even being handicapped with having to pick two players per team to be fair to the world. With more intel we hope to do even better this year.

Derrick Henry is Beast Mode 4.0. The Seahawks know how to feed a beast. We predict he'll land in Seattle

1

RB - Derrick Henry ALA – Henry is a beast. The Seahawks are the only team in the league that knows how to really feed the beast. Derrick follows in Shaun's footsteps in Seattle.

2

RB - Ezekiel Elliott OSU – Elliott is a complete football player and the Indianapolis Colts need a bunch of complete football players including a starting RB with some punch.

QB - Carson Wentz NDS – The Cowboys' staff fell in love with Wentz at the Senior Bowl and they desperately need a back-up now and a franchise quarterback for the future.

QB - Jared Goff CAL – Lots of teams will be looking for quarterbacks. Some need a starter, while others need a capable back-up. The 49ers need both, plus Chip Kelley loves QBs.

5

WR - Laquon Treadwell UM – Treadwell is a gamechanger. He'll give Mariota a true blue #1 receiver in Nashville as the Titans trade down to get their man and some more picks.

6

WR - Michael Thomas OSU – The Dolphins need a lot of players in this draft and Ryan Tannehill needs quality receivers. Thomas is a solid choice probably in the 2nd round.

QB - Paxton Lynch MEM – The LA Rams are not sold on any quarterback on the current roster and need to draft their quarterback of the future. Lynch will be a nice place to start.

WR - Tyler Boyd PIT Diggs was a great fit for Vikings last year, but they still need more quality targets for Teddy Bridgewater and Boyd would be a solid #2 receiver in Minnesota.

9

WR - Corey Coleman BAY – The Chiefs have developed a passing game to the WRs and they like the new dimension. Coleman can help expand what they can do at the position.

TE - Hunter Henry ARK – Henry is by far the most talented tight end in this draft and would be a great fit in Bruce Arians' offense in Arizona, but will they get a shot at him in this draft?

WR - Sterling Shepard OU – The Redskins can always use more weapons on offense for Coach Jay Gruden and the new Kirk Cousins. Shepard can return kicks and this helps too.

WR - Braxton Miller OSU – Detroit will look to fill a void, if Megatron decides to retire and this high octane offense can always use another playmaker like Braxton Miller.

13

RB - Alex Collins ARK Collins played under the radar at Arkansas and should make a solid pro. The Saints seem to always have backs get hurt, so this seems like a logical pick.

WR - Josh Doctson TCU – The Patriots have needed help at the wide receiver position for years now and will not be able to pass up the gifted Horned Frog late in the first round.

WR - Pharoh Cooper SC – Cooper is an explosive playmaker that any team would welcome. We think he would look pretty snazzy in Carolina Panther black and blue.

WR - Will Fuller ND – The Bengals are set at QB, TE and RB, so look for them to bolster the passing game with more depth at the wide receiver position. Fuller will be a good fit in Cincy.

TE - Austin Hooper SU – Gates can't play forever and the Chargers started the youth movement on offense last year with "Flash" Gordon at RB. It is time to draft a new TE.

18

WR - Leonte Carroo RUT – The new Giants head coach would be wise to keep the new passing game going and Carroo can give them more quality depth at the position.

RB - Jordan Howard IU – Jefferson County rivals, Gardendale and Hueytown team up when the Buccaneers draft the former Rocket and UAB star to play behind Jameis Winston.

QB - Cardale Jones OSU – DAJF's days in Cleveland are numbered. The Browns will need to sucker their idiotic fans into buying more season tickets and Cardale can at least do that.

QB - Christian Hackenberg PSU – "Hack" was sacked 100 times in his career at PSU, but we think there is talent here. Look for him to be reunited with Coach Bill O'Brien in Houston.

TE - Nick Vannett OSU The Falcons are still looking for more help in their receiving corps and Vannett would be a nice weapon to place in their aerial arsenal this fall.

RB - Devontae Booker UU The Steelers need to stock pile some running backs in this draft. Don't be surprised if they take 2-3 rushers to back up their injury prone backfield.

24

WR - Rashard Higgins CSU – The Eagles seem to always be in the market for quality wide receivers and Higgins is a sleeper they will find hard to pass up in the middle rounds.

QB - Conner Cook MSU – Spartan QBs do well in the NFL. Cook could be the best one yet and Denver will be in the market for a solid back-up to their new starter Brock Osweiler.

WR - De'Runnya Wilson MST – Green Bay is desperate for quality wide receivers and Wilson is the kind of athlete the Pack would love to have available for Aaron Rodgers.

QB - Brandon Doughty WKU – The Bears have no current back-up behind Jay Cutler and are grooming nobody for the future QB. That all changes with this draft and Doughty.

RB - Kenneth Dixon LAT Latavius Murray is a nice back, but the Radiers could use more depth behind Carr to help take some pressure off their high-flying passing game.

QB - Dak Prescott MST – Rex Ryan likes to play Russian roulette with quarterbacks, so Prescott will just be another signal caller he can throw in the revolver at Buffalo.

WR - Kenny Lawler CAL – Baltimore can always use a WR and will probably take a couple in this draft. We're thinking Ozzie takes somebody like Lawler in the middle rounds.

QB - Cody Kessler USC – Ryan Fitzpatrick is aging and Geno Smith has been a bust, so look for the Jets to look towards the future when they tap the talented Trojan, Kessler.

PK - Roberto Aguayo FSU – With the 30-yard extra point, there is now a premium on kickers. The Jaguars know this more than most and will keep the talented Floridian home.
