'Nauts upset the Armos to win their first title

ATLANTA – With their "We Want Duncanville" t-shirts, the Jugtown faithful invaded Hotlanta (which was quite cold) with the hopes of reenacting  General Sherman's fiery conquest. In a monumental upset in Big Daddy Bowl XV, the Rice Rockets roared, soared and burned past the highly favored Texas Armada (32-9) to secure their first BDFL title. Avenging last year's heart-breaking one-point lost to the Sloth Monsters in Big Daddy Bowl XIV, the Juggernauts put together an impressive 12-5 run during the 2016 BDFL season that vaulted them from the BDFL's ignominious Null Set Club. A BDFL championship parade dubbed the "Jugtown Juggernauts Jubilee" has been planned in Gardendale and will start at Driver Stadium and head east on Mt. Olive Road, then turn left at the Civic Center and proceed north onto Main Street and conclude at J & J Drugs with an old-fashioned soda fountain celebration. A big turnout including BDFL Commissioner Iron Hand and Gardendale Mayor Stan Hogeland are expected to attend this BDFL title celebration and Grand Daddy trophy presentation.
